Magnetic Prism Set with Light Source  

Perform refraction experiments and study the behavior of light after passing through different shapes. Each piece has a magnetic back for mounting on a magnetic chalk or marker board. The bottom of the pieces are painted white so that the ray of light can be easily seen, and the sides are polished for extra clarity. Clear acrylic prisms measure 6" thick. Set includes seven lenses (equilateral, isosceles, semi-circular block, double concave, double convex, plano concave, and plano convex), laser source with magnetic backing and storage box with cut-out foam storage spaces for each piece.
Laser Optical Disc Set  

An excellent and economical set for introductory ray optics! The laser ray box projects one, three, or five parallel bright beams and is equipped with a momentary switch for safety. Includes a substantial vinyl template with a degree circle and a linear scale forming the optical disk; seven clear acrylic optical elements; and a mirror with adjustable curvature for investigating refraction, lenses, prisms, and mirrors. The bottoms of the acrylic elements are frosted to show the ray paths inside. Includes manual and storage box.
Refraction Tank with Laser  

A self contained unit to measure and study refraction of light. Incident and refractive rays are easily seen and measured. Light rays air into water, water to air, and water in water can be studied easily with the help of built-in laser, as a light source, which revolves and can be fixed at any point around a circular graduated scale. Includes leveling screws to level the water in the tank. Circular scale has 6-3/8" diameter.
 

 

Ray Box and Optics Set  

Use to perform experiments in reflection, refraction, and color mixing. The box has hinged sides with mirrors used for mixing of colors and rays of light. An adjustable lens in the box is used to produce divergent, convergent, or parallel rays of light. The light box has grooves to accept slit plates or color filters. Comes complete with eight acrylic plastic blocks (one rectangular, one semi-circular, one double concave, one equilateral 60 x 60 x 60 degrees, two right angle 90 x 60 x 30 degrees and 90 x 45 x 45 degrees, one circular, and one double convex), eight mounted color filters, two slit plates, three mirrors (one plane mirror, one semi-circular, and one parabolic), and one set of colored cards. Requires one 12V battery or 12V power supply (not included. Spare bulb provided. Supplied in a thermocole box with place for each part.

Optical Bench Set  
Designed for basic geometric optics experiments, including imaging by lenses and mirrors. The optical elements are mounted in protective frames with mounting rods for easy alignment, and the four captive riders have an index mark and set screws to secure the rider and optical elements without disturbing their alignment. The lightweight and precise parallel bar optical bench with scale measures 37-3/4" x 4-3/4" x 4-3/4". Includes a prefocused illuminator with a 12 V/6 W incandescent lamp, four 2" dia. lenses, two mirrors, one object diaphragm, two screens, and manual. Requires a 12 V/0.5 A power supply.
24" Light Pipe  
Show the principles of fiber optics. Direct a beam of light from a flashlight or a standard laboratory light source into one end, and the other end will emit the light in a superb display of internal reflection. Pipe is formed in a manner that requires light to travel in a non-linear path in order to transverse from one end to the other. Engineered of 1/2" clear acrylic.
 

 

Educational Diffraction Gratings  
Three diffraction gratings mounted on the same slide 100, 300, and 600 lines per mm. Individual gratings measure 1/2" x 3/8". Slide measures 3" x 1-1/4".
Linear Polarized Film  
Polarizing filters are used for experiments involving birefringence, light scattering, polarized light experiments, light reflection, Brewster’s angle, and how polarized sunglasses work. Slide mounted frames for easy handling. 10" x 17" sheet.
