RM5011 Triple Beam Balance

A single pan, low form balance that has three notched beams with center indicating sliding masses giving total weighing capacity of 610g. The capacity can be extended to 2610g with supplementary masses. Spring loaded zero adjust compensator and magnetic damping are provided. Stainless steel pan is of 150mm diameter.

RM5012 Four Beam Balance

A high-form balance with four beams, each provided with a non-removable sliding mass, has total weighing capacity of 311g. No additional mass is required. RM5027 Dynamic Trolley, Wooden

A pair of trolleys for investigating momentum, velocity, acceleration and energy conservation. Both trolleys are identical and each consists of a rectangular wooden body carried upon three low friction wheels to ensure smooth straight operation. One trolley is supplied with one strong spring plunger. The trolley is provided with three dowel pegs so that the trolleys can be stacked upon one another. This enables the effective mass to be increased. In front of each trolley, two holes are drilled and fitted with corks. If long pins are pushed through the corks of one of the trolleys, they can be made to stick together after collision.

 

 

RM5029 Second Law of Motion Apparatus

This apparatus demonstrates Newton’s Second Law of Motion. It consists of a spring-loaded device to show that a ball released vertically will hit the floor at the same time as a ball propelled horizontally. It is provided with a detachable rod which enables to clamp the apparatus on a stand or table. Includes 2 steel balls.

 

 

RM5031 Ticker Tape Timer AC

For the measurement of speed and acceleration. It operates on 12V AC and is safe for students. Paper tape, drawn through guides, is struck by a dotting screw carried on the armature. On wooden base with 4 mm sockets. Includes one roll of tape and 12 carbon discs.

This force table is designed for force and vector demonstrations. Table is constructed of machined aluminum (40 cm dia) and graduated in degrees around its full circumference. RM5043 Falling Body Apparatus

A simple apparatus to demonstrate that a body propelled horizontally will fall vertically at the same rate as a similar body allowed to fall freely. Comprises of a spring loaded L-section launcher. There are holes in it for placing two 19mm dia ball. When the launcher is released by a push button, one ball falls freely whereas the second ball is projected forward. Mounted on a wooden box with a storage pocket for balls. Includes two steel balls.

 

 

RM5044 Loop the Loop

A simple apparatus to demonstrate both centripetal acceleration and conversion of potential energy into kinetic energy. A steel ball released at the upper end of the loop, it gains enough energy to transverse the loop without falling. Comes completely assembled on a wooden base.

 

 

RM5050 Pulley Demonstration Set

This pulley set is an ideal set up to demonstrate law of conservation of energy, concepts of force and mechanical equilibrium. Contains a 15x25cm wooden base with mounted capstan and a screw eye. RM5069 ‘g’ By Free Fall Apparatus

For determining the value of ‘g’ by measuring the time taken by a falling steel ball. The apparatus consists of a release unit and a trip unit. Both these units size 13x9x1cm are fitted with 4mm sockets and can be readily clamped on to a 12mm diameter rod. The release unit is fitted with a small solenoid type electromagnet which holds a steel ball. The solenoid helps in the prompt release of the ball on being disconnected. The trip unit has a swinging plate and is fitted with a switch. The switch is normally held closed by a magnet and is opened when the ball falls on the plate. The time of fall is measured by a digital Centisecond Timer. Supplied complete with steel balls but without Centisecond Timer, retort stand and base.

RM5062 Linear Air Track Kit

This apparatus is capable of greater sensitivity and accuracy. It consists of two iron frames connected by a link. The frames are fitted with self centering chucks. An accuracy cut micrometer screw to read to 0.01mm and main scale of

0-10mm is fitted in one frame. One end of a sensitive spirit level is pivoted to one of the frames and the other end rests on the point of a micrometer screw fitted on the other frame.

RM5118 Bourdon Gauge

For the measurement of actual (absolute) gaseous pressure. This apparatus is a laboratory demonstration version of the standard Bourdon type of pressure gauge widely used in industry. The instrument comprises of a circular gauge having an overall diameter of 100mm. The dial read 0 to 100 lb/in2 and 0 to 7 Kg/cm2. The gauge is carried upon a circular pillar 19x16mm diameter. A tubing 8mm diameter projects from the side of the pillar to provide connection with the system under investigation. The complete apparatus is provided with a heavy cast iron base.

 

 

RM5122 Boyle’s Law Apparatus

Comprising two glass tubes, one closed at the top and the other open. Their lower ends are connected together by 1metre of rubber pressure tubing. Both tubes are mounted on sliding brackets which may be locked in any position on the metal supporting rods. The stand, made of metal, carries a scale graduated from 0 to 100cm in the center.

RT5028 Ball and Ring with Chain

RT5036 Heat Conductivity Apparatus

For demonstrating the rate of heat conduction in five different metals. The kit consists of five metal rods, approximately 20mm in diameter and 40mm long equally spaced on a brass disc and mounted on an insulated handle. For demonstrating the mechanical effect of reflection and absorption of light and heat. Partially evacuated glass bulb has four vanes which spin on low friction pivot. Alternate vanes are dark and white in colour.

 

 

RT5051 Specific Heat Set

Set of six metal cylinders, diameter 20mm, of equal mass of aluminium, brass, copper, iron, lead and zinc. The cylinders are mounted in wooden stand and are drilled for suspension.

One hole is for rubber stopper which will hold the thermometer and the other hole is for the stirrer. Complete with rubber stopper, stirrer and washer, but without thermometer.

RL5094 Intermediate Spectrometer

This instrument is designed for high performance student use. It has cast aluminium alloy main structure. The collimator tube is mounted on the fixed pillar and telescope tube on the movable. Both the collimator and the telescope have 175mm focal length, 32mm clear aperture object glass at their one ends. The collimator has a precision slit 6mm high and telescope has Ramsden’s eye-piece 15X at their other ends. Both collimator and telescope have rack and pinion focusing and means for levelling their axes and squaring them to the axis of rotation.

The scale 127mm diameter with protective shield is fixed to the telescope movement and the prism table is attached to the double ended vernier which reads to 1 minute arc. Both telescope and table can be rotated independently by hand about the same vertical axis. These can be clamped at the desired positions and adjusted precisely with the help of fine adjustment screws.

Prism table is marked with lines to assist placing the prism with respect to the table levelling screws and has screwed holes for fixing prism and grating holders. Prism holder can accommodate prisms up to 38mm high. RL5093 Junior Spectrometer

Heavy cast aluminium alloy base integral with collimator tube support. Both the collimator and telescope have 175mm focal length and 25mm aperture object glass at their one ends. The collimator has precision slit and telescope an 8X Ramsden’s eye-piece at their other ends. Focusing is done by helical action device. The scale 175mm diameter is divided in degrees and is read to 0.1 degree (6 minutes of arc) with the help of the vernier fixed to the telescope arm. The scale can be rotated through 180° and locked in any desired position. The telescope has both the coarse and fine adjustment for exact readings.
