Leaf Shapes and Arrangements Display  

A major step in plant identification is recognizing the shapes and arrangements of leaves.

This mount illustrates the most common forms for your young botanists.

Simple leaves shown are linear, elliptic, fan, chordate, needle, lanceolate, peltate, scale, deltoid, and oblong.

Compound leaves are trifoliate, palmate, pinnate, and bipinnate.

Arrangements are alternate, opposite, and whorled. All fully labeled.

Fruit Types Display  

 

Explore the diversity and structure of fruiting bodies with this wonderful botanical exhibit. Nineteen fully labeled specimens represent 11 fruit types. Included are the nut, samara, loment, silicle, drupe, berry, legume, capsule, caryopsis, achene, and aggregate. 21" x 14".
 

 

Insect Study Set  

Contains 20-25 insect specimens representing the seven major orders, all native to the United States. Study guide reviews basic insect biology and describes characteristics of the seven major orders. Insects are displayed in a 12" x 16" Riker mount.

A Riker mount featuring 11 different orders with 27 insect specimens illustrating the diversity between species.

Honeybee Life Cycle  

This Riker display mount shows the different stages in the life cycle of the honeybee: egg, larva, pupa, queen, worker, drone, workers harvesting pollen and nectar, honeycomb foundation, cells for workers, and cells for drones. 6" x 8"

From egg to freeze-dried larva (caterpillar), to chrysalis and adult - all stages of a complete metamorphosis are included and fully labeled.

This 5-1/2" x 4-1/2" display shows students each stage of the dragonfly’s life cycle: the egg, nymph, and adult stages. Each specimen is clearly labeled.
 

 

Animal Kingdom Survey Set  

This collection of 12 display mounts is a wonderful resource for showing the diversity of the animal kingdom. Each mount will also be useful for studies of individual phyla and orders.
